The applicant is requesting removal of the historic landmark designation from the Carman House and property located at 3811 Carman Drive.
The appellant/applicant has filed an appeal to the Lake Oswego City Council of the Historic Resources Advisory Board’s (HRAB) decision to deny the applicant’s request pursuant to ORS 197.772 for removal of the historic landmark designation from the Carman House and property. The City Council is scheduled to hear this appeal on December 17, 2013, at 7:00 p.m.
On October 23, 2013, the Historic Resources Advisory Board held deliberations and voted to deny removal of the Carman House from the Historic Resources Landmark List. The final decision is scheduled at a special meeting on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 6:30 pm, at which time the Board will consider adoption of the Findings, Conclusions and Order.
On October 9, 2013, the Historic Resources Advisory Board opened the continued hearing on this application and received additional evidence in support of and in opposition to the application. As permitted by LOC 50.07.003.4.a.xii and upon the request of the applicant’s legal representative, the applicant has 7 days to submit a final written argument in support of the application. (The applicant’s final submittal shall be considered part of the record, but shall not include any new evidence.) The hearing was continued to a special meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at 7:00 pm, at which time the Board will review the applicant’s final written argument, deliberate, and make a preliminary decision. The final decision is expected to be made at a special meeting on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 6:30 pm, at which time the Board will consider adoption of the Findings, Conclusions and Order.
The Historic Resources Advisory Board (HRAB) continued the hearing on this application to their next meeting on Wednesday, October 9th. The record remains open and additional oral and written testimony will be accepted. Individuals are encouraged to submit their written testimony prior to the date of the hearing to allow staff time to make copies and distribute to the Board for review.
Due to a family emergency, the applicant has requested that this hearing be continued. The Historic Resources Advisory Board will consider this application at its meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. Please note that this meeting will be held at the West End Building in the Santiam Room, 4101 Kruse Way, Lake Oswego.
