04/23/14
At the Planning Commission meeting on Monday, April 28, 2014, staff will recommend that the Commission return the case to the Council.  For further information see the staff memo dated 04/14/14 below under the heading "Staff Reports/Memorandums."

03/11/14
On Monday, March 10, 2013, the Planning Commission continued the hearing to April 28, 2014.  The Commission anticipates that the City Council will discuss options on how to proceed with the zone change application and remand and provide direction to the Planning Commission.

On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, the City of Lake Oswego was informed by Kensington Investment Group, the prospective buyer of the City’s 14-acre West End Building property, that it was exercising its option to terminate the Purchase and Sale Agreement based on its recent due diligence examination of the property.  Read Press Release.

On February 4, 2014, the City Council remanded this case to the Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission public hearing is scheduled March 10, 2014.

01/29/14
On February 4, 2014, the Applicant, the Lake Oswego Redevelopment Agency, will ask the City Council to remand the application to the Planning Commission for a hearing on March 10, 2014, to consider new evidence relating to the prospective purchaser’s plan to redevelop the property. If the City Council does not remand the proceedings to the Planning Commission, staff will ask the City Council to continue (reschedule) the public hearing to the City Council meeting on February 18, 2014.

In any event, there will be no public testimony on February 4.

On Monday, November 25, 2013, the Planning Commission heard testimony from 12 individuals, deliberated and made a preliminary recommendation that the City Council deny the application.  The Findings, Conclusion and Order (the final recommendation) will be considered at the meeting on December 9, 2013.

The City Council is tentatively scheduled to consider the Planning Commission's recommendation at their meeting on January 7, 2014.
