Memorial Day Celebration

Monday, May 28, 2018 - 10:30am to 1:00pm

Salute our heroes with a special Memorial Day celebration hosted by The Lake Oswego Veterans Memorial on May 28.  Exhibits open at 10:30 a.m. with viewings of the PT 658 Boat, the Lake Oswego Fire Engine and Rescue Boat, and Lake Oswego Police K9.  The program begins at 11:30 a.m. with a Presentation of Colors from the Lake Oswego Police Honor Guard.  The Keynote Address will be given by Air Force General Merrill A. “Tony” McPeak.  General McPeak, a career fighter pilot, served as Chief of Staff for the United States Air Force from 1990-1994.  Following General McPeak’s address, Naval Captain Jonathan Puskas will unveil Phase I of the design of the Memorial.  The event will also include the Patriot Guard Riders of Oregon and a flyover at noon from the West Coast Ravens.     

The Lake Oswego Veterans Memorial Board is partnering with the City of Lake Oswego to design, build and fund a Memorial to honor the service of U.S. military Veterans and First Responders at Foothills Park.
