VFW Veterans Day Celebration

Saturday, November 11, 2017 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Lake Oswego’s VFW post will host a Veterans Day celebration on Saturday, November 11.

Patriot Guard motorcycles will greet guests in front of City Hall (380 A Avenue, Lake Oswego) and a Humvee will be parked in back. Visitors will be treated to “The Star-Spangled Banner,” an operatic performance of “God Bless America,” bagpipes and an Echo Taps ceremony featuring two buglars. Boy Scout Troop 127 will help direct guests, and the Lake Oswego Police Department’s color guard will present the flag. In addition, you'll have a chance to shake the hand of an active-duty solder.

Inside the council chambers, displays will include patriotic sculptures and a collection of military helmets and uniforms from World War I and World War II. VFW officials will also give Mayor Kent Studebaker a POW/MIA flag.
