Do you know someone who recently lost their favorite dog or cat? Do you wish you could comfort them but are not sure what to do? Lake Oswego Public Library offers a gift that grieving pet owners appreciate receiving during their time of loss -- The Pet Memorial Fund. Lake Oswego Public Library is one of just a few libraries in the country that has established a pet memorial collection as a lasting way to remember a beloved pet.
A patron's testimonial:
“I received notice from the library that my cat Harmony's two memorial books were in, and I checked them out yesterday to read them. I wanted to let you and the librarian know how thrilled I am by these choices! I'm impressed that Marshmallow was a 1943 Caldecott Honor Book and was interested to learn about the author's local roots. Twinkles, Arthur and Puss had me guessing, just like it will young readers, I'm sure. I appreciate these thoughtful choices with their wonderful stories and illustrations. They are a terrific memorial to my cat Harmony (who actually looked a little like the cat Oliver in Marshmallow).”
Regards, Suzanne S. Cushing
