What is YAC?
The Youth Action Council is an advisory and action board that works directly with the Parks & Recreation Department to plan, promote and implement community activities within Lake Oswego. It is an opportunity for students to define immediate and long-term needs in the community and attempt to meet those needs throughout the school year. YAC has successfully planned sports leagues, volunteer opportunities, planning sessions for City Council and recreational events/activities within Lake Oswego. Events and activities are determined by each year’s council in September & October.

City of Lake Oswego residents in grades 9-12; or attend Lakeridge High School or Lake Oswego High School. 

Youth Action Council members must meet the following requirements:
-Attend 9 monthly meetings (schedule attached) from September-June
-Provide 35 hours of volunteer service with YAC during the school year
-Work on designated YAC sub-committees to plan, promote and implement community activities within Lake Oswego
