LU 17-0002: Community Development Code Amendments to Allow Bakeries in Industrial Park Zone
The proposed amendment would allow bakeries in the IP zone with a limitation on the size of retail sales and a prohibition against drive-through service to be consistent with the purpose of the IP zone. A 2,000 sq. ft. limitation on the gross floor area for the sale and consumption of bakery goods is proposed, which matches the size limitation for accessory restaurant uses allowed in the IP zone (see LOC 50.03.004.1.b.iv). This would allow retail bakeries that are 2,000 sq. ft. or less in size in the IP zone or production bakeries of any size, provided the accessory retail area does not exceed 2,000 sq. ft.

The City Council considered the Planning Commission's recommendation on the proposed amendments at a public hearing on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. The Council approved LU 17-0002 and enacted Ordinance 2736; a link to the ordinance is available below under "Key Documents".

The Planning Commission considered the proposed amendments at a public hearing on February 13, 2017, and made a final recommendation that the City Council approve the proposed amendments as written in the staff report.
The City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on March 7, 2017.
