Join us on August 19 at 6 p.m. for a free in-person educational workshop presented in partnership with the City of Lake Oswego, Energy Trust of Oregon, Solar Oregon, and the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network.
Learn how solar panels and battery storage systems work, what options are available for your home, and how you can take advantage of current financial incentives. A representative from Solar Oregon will give a short presentation followed by a Q&A session.
The City Council’s 2025 adopted goals included an initiative to develop options for phasing out use of gas-powered yard and lawn care equipment in Lake Oswego.
To inform work on this City Council goal, we want to hear from residents, property owners, and landscaping businesses that operate in Lake Oswego.
You are invited to complete an online survey to share about your current landscaping practices and thoughts on possible incentives and educational programs that could facilitate the transition to battery-electric landscaping equipment and other sustainable alternatives to gas-powered equipment.
Did you know that water entering our storm catch basins flows untreated directly into our local creeks, rivers, lakes, and oceans untreated? That means pollutants like trash, motor oil, chemicals, and yard waste go straight into the environment—harming wildlife, our water supply, and the places we swim. Help keep our waterways clean by following this simple rule: Only rain down the drain.
- No pool or hot tub water (chlorinated, brominated, copper-treated, or heated)
- No litter, leaves, or yard waste
- No fertilizers or pesticides
- No soaps or household cleaners
- No pet waste
Discharging the above is considered an illicit discharge and can result in fines.
Thursday, August 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at City Hall or Online
You are invited to a free Urban and Community Forestry Workshop. Join us to learn about the City’s tree code requirements to protect trees while constructing permitted development. This workshop will explore Lake Oswego Code Section 55.08 Tree Protection, including tree code definitions, prohibited activities, tree protection plan requirements and tree protection standards.
